“Aaeen-e-Wahabiyat” is an important work by the renowned Shia scholar, jurist, and theologian, Ustad Ja’far Subhani, which presents a critical review of the beliefs and ideologies of Wahabism. The book was originally written in Persian and, due to its significance, was later translated and published in Arabic under the title “Al-Wahhabiyyah fi al-Meezan” and in Urdu under the title “Aaeen-e Wahabiyat”.
The primary objective of this book is to engage in a scholarly and logical discourse on the contentious issues between Shia Islam and Wahhabism. In the light of the Quran and Sunnah, Ustad Ja’far Subhani has clarified Islamic viewpoints while debating the specific beliefs of Wahhabism with evidence.

The book is divided into twenty chapters, covering numerous controversial issues. Some of the key topics are as follows:
- Touheed (Monotheism) and Shirk (Polytheism): The book discusses in detail the types of Touheed and the reality of Shirk, and the beliefs of Wahhabism are examined against this standard.
- Tawassul (Intercession) and Istighatha (Seeking Help): The Shia perspective on the issue of seeking intercession from and help of the Prophets and the Saints of Allah is proven with evidence from the Quran and Hadith, and the objections of Wahhabism are answered.
- Ziyarat al-Quboor (Visiting Graves): Arguments are presented on the issue of visiting and constructing graves.
- Shafa’ah (Intercession): Light is shed on the belief in the intercession of the Prophets and Imams on the Day of Judgment.
- Sifat-e Khuda (Attributes of ALLAH): The doctrines of Tashbih (anthropomorphism) and Tajsim (corporeality) regarding the attributes of Allah Almighty are refuted.
The Author’s Perspective
In the preface of the book, Ustad Ja’far Subhani has clarified that the goal of this book is not to create discord among Islamic schools of thought, but to reveal the truth through scholarly discussions. He has invited Wahhabi scholars to provide a logical and well-reasoned response to this book in order to establish a healthy academic environment.
Overall, “Aaeen-e Wahabiyat” is considered one of the most important scholarly and argumentative responses from the Shia school of thought to the ideologies of Wahhabism.
